Module 16 Discussion: Reading and the Second Language Learner

Reading instruction must change for second language learners in several ways. Texts should be simplified for ELL students, vocabulary should be taught prior to lessons, extra visuals should be provided and the teacher should check for understanding with ELLs throughout lessons.
