Module 6 Discussion: Language and Learning
Response to "Language Learning" article.
After reading the article "Language Learning", I see it relates to the themes of this course. It discussed how all human beings usually acquire a language before the age of 5, and emphasized the debate of how much of that is nature and how much of that is nurture. As we know, these two, nature and nurture, come together to influence language learning. Most researchers agree that language acquisition is a complex process. I agree too!
There are many additional resources that can be found in support of language learning in other content areas on the NSF site. They have an extensive document library on many subject areas, especially the sciences. Additionally, they have a great section on Language and Linguistics. Their classroom resources are excellent and very useful, specifically their lesson plans. I will be saving this site for future use in my classroom.
