The video interview with Pat Mora suggests it is important to introduce sources that reflect and celebrate immigrant and migrant experiences, and that incorporate names and cultural markers from ELLs' home communities. She emphasizes the need to show students' that something so central to their lives as their culture is welcome in their education. The resource indicates how many and which kinds of cultures might be present in our schools. It is a starting point to researching where our students might be coming from so that we can practice the work of recognition that Ms. Mora advocates.
