Module 7 Video Discussion

The video showed a teacher who scaffolded the process of close reading. She had students read through the learning targets, and modeled close reading initially by asking students to identify unfamiliar vocabulary within the target before moving forward. Students worked with appropriate peers, used decoding techniques, read/thought/talked/wrote about the text in order to shape a meaningful connection and understanding of the content.
