Module 12 Discussion: SIOP

The SIOP model is used to assist our ELL students by making the lesson more comprehensible and easier to understand. While the components are essentially the same as as traditional lesson plan, there is more focus on direct incorporation of prior knowledge and learning, specific strategies, and specific supports that an ELL student would need. 

SIOP plans focus on students gaining experiencing using the language through vocabulary and interactions with peers.
