I really like the way he had the students using the Frayer model and then using context clues to find the meanings of words.  Once they determined the meaning, the discussed them and found examples in the book.  This not only insures that students know the meaning but by they can also find examples of how the word is used.  I am definitely going to try this in class.  Giving students definitions does not help them to learn.  By finding the meanings they can also process the words.
