Mod 9 Discussion: Oral Language Support in My Classroom

One key principle I would focus on is making sure all students have the chance to participate. I like the Ping-Pongdiscussion strategy because students respond to each other's ideas instead of only answering the teacher.

To support ESOL students, I would use sentence starters like "I think...", "I agree because...", "I would like to add...", or "Can you explain what you mean?" This gives students a place to start and helps them feel more confident speaking.

I think this is a simple way to make discussions more inclusive while helping students practice both English and the lesson content.
