I personally think Brain-Based Theory and Krashen’s ideas fit this student the best. She is in the silent stage, where she listens and learns before she starts speaking more. I think this is a normal part of learning a new language because the brain needs time to understand and process the new language.

I can relate to this because learning English was hard for me in the beginning too. When I started to feel like I could understand and think in English, it became easier to speak. As a teacher, I would be patient and not push the student to speak before she is ready. I would use pictures, gestures, and simple words to help her understand and create a safe classroom where she feels comfortable learning.
