Discussion: Final Reflection

This course has helped me better understand the importance of using literacy and learning strategies across all content areas, not just in language arts. One of the biggest takeaways for me is that students benefit when teachers provide tools that help them organize, process, and apply information in meaningful ways. One of the most valuable lessons from this course was the importance of using instructional strategies that make content comprehensible for all students, such as visual supports, graphic organizers, collaborative learning, and opportunities for meaningful communication. These strategies not only benefit ESOL students but also enhance learning for the entire class.
