Mod 7 Discussion: Data Action
One recommendation from the Data Action Plans that is especially important to the action research process is identifying learning gaps. This step is critical because it helps educators move beyond simply collecting data and instead focus on understanding where students are struggling and what specific skills or concepts need additional support.
In my own action research process, I would use a variety of data sources, including formative assessments, student work samples, classroom observations, and summative assessment results, to identify patterns in student performance. By analyzing these data points, I can determine which learning objectives students have mastered and where gaps continue to exist. Once these gaps are identified, I can develop targeted interventions and instructional strategies to address student needs.
