Mod 5 Discussion: Formal and Informal Assessments

I am unsure how to classify this, but I’ve had my high school yearbook students apply to a desktop publishing job using the skills they had acquired while creating the yearbook. They were amazed that they had learned skills that could actually qualify them for job in graphic design!

As a school librarian, would be very interested in trying the Backwards Book Walk. It would not only be a great way to assess reading prediction but also would introduce students to new genres and ideas. Let them see that the library has more than James Patterson books!
