Scenario Response No. 7
Response No. 7
I would start using flexible groups rather than having the same students working together throughout the entire year. I would place students in various groups based on their levels of skills and abilities, language competencies, interests, and unique needs in order to expose them to a diversity of viewpoints and to stimulate them in different ways. In addition, I would vary the roles in groups to foster greater independence, responsibility, and initiative. The pedagogical theory I am inclined to adopt is social constructivism as the most suitable one, especially in that students tend to be more productive when interacting with other individuals, discussing different ideas, and cooperating with each other. I believe that it will contribute to taking students out of their comfort zones.
