My own criteria would be addressing the diverse need for instruction of students. My students have diverse academic abilities as well as diverse English language abilities. Therefore, differentiation and scaffolding will play a critical role in my ability to provide effective instruction that meets the needs of students at their appropriate levels.

This criterion is important to me because I believe that my students must first have the ability to understand before they can learn to engage with standard-based instructions. This criterion emphasizes the importance of sentence frames, visual support, guided reading, vocabulary building, and even discussion to make learning possible.

This criterion is also important to me because it promotes an inclusive approach to instruction rather than a universal approach to teaching.
