This course has been very beneficial in deepening my understanding of how closely related special education and ELL students are, particularly in the instructional strategies used to support their learning. Many of the strategies discussed throughout the course are effective for both populations and reinforce the importance of intentional scaffolding and differentiated instruction.

I appreciated that the course was self-paced, as it allowed me to manage my workload more effectively and complete assignments when I was able. Additionally, reading and reflecting on classmates’ responses helped broaden my perspective and strengthen my understanding of how these strategies are applied in general education settings, rather than only within an IND setting. Overall, this course has expanded my instructional lens and provided practical strategies I can carry into my teaching practice.
