The content-area approach I would recommend for colleagues across all subjects is the use of Structured Academic Conversations supported by sentence frames and explicit modeling of academic language. This strategy can be applied in math, science, history, physical education, and the fine arts because students in all subjects must explain processes, justify reasoning, and discuss concepts. It is grounded in sociocultural and constructivist learning theories, emphasizing that students learn best through interaction in meaningful contexts. I would feel very comfortable both implementing this approach in my own classroom and teaching my colleagues how to use it effectively.
