his student is at the emergent stage of writing. They can express ideas, but their sentences are short, vocabulary is often incorrect, tenses are confused, and ideas are not logically sequenced. They also struggle with understanding genres and creating orderly sentence patterns.

To help move the student to the intermediate level, I would use guided writing with scaffolded support. I would provide sentence frames and graphic organizers to help structure ideas, offer mini-lessons on tense consistency and vocabulary, and explicitly teach the features of different genres. Modeling writing and engaging in shared writing activities would give the student examples to follow. Regular feedback and opportunities to revise their work would allow them to practice sequencing ideas, expanding sentences, and using language more accurately, gradually building independence and coherence in their writing.
