One recommendation from the Data Action Plans that is especially important to my action research process is letting the critical questions drive the data analysis. Rather than looking at data in isolation, this approach ensures that the analysis remains focused on specific instructional concerns and student learning outcomes. By starting with well-defined critical questions, I can avoid being overwhelmed by large amounts of data and instead concentrate on patterns that directly relate to student performance and instructional effectiveness.

In my action research process, I would like the critical questions to evolve as new data is reviewed. For example, initial questions may focus on overall student mastery, but as learning gaps are identified, the questions can be refined to target specific skills or standards. This allows the research process to remain flexible and responsive to student needs. Using critical questions to guide data analysis helps ensure that instructional decisions are intentional, aligned to goals, and grounded in evidence, ultimately leading to more meaningful and effective classroom interventions.
