I think for this scenario I would first model reading. I would have students follow along and be sure to annunciate words so they are clearly understood. Then I would do a partnered reading so that students could read it to themselves and a partner and learn the words by doing. I would then finish the lesson with repeated readings. I would demonstrate the reading and have them highlight or underline key terms or phrases and circle words they are not sure about. This is something similar to what I do in my classes now. I do a partner reading first with big readings and then I read it to the class and ask questions as we read. This helps them develop their reading and helps them to better understand and comprehend things they just read.
