Mod 9 Discussion: Oral Language Support in My Classroom

In my classes we do a lot of paired and group reading. We also do a little bit of concept map learning but we mostly use graphic organizer to sort ideas. Concept map would be useful to allow students to be more creative when matching ideas to topics. I would also love to implement jigsaw learning as well as turn to your neighbor. I'm sure the students get tired of hearing me talk and it could be more beneficial to learn from other learners. I could see this being used this week or next actually as we are learning the roles of the Legislative Branch and roles of the Executive Branch. Each student could take a role and explain what it means and give an example of it and what a check on power it could be.
