Mod 1 Video Discussion

My take away from Mod 1 is that there is not one specific way to learn. The method I most identified with is the input method and learning in the active environment of whatever that speaker is speaking in. I think to my own classroom and how I try to make every lesson accessible to everyone and how I try to correlate what we are learning to things people have an understanding of already. I break down the more complicated words and replace them with smaller words or phrases all students may be familiar with, and then tie it back to the original word we were discussion. It is not surprising there are different ways for people to learn but to see the ones that are considered to be the most effective is interesting. 

I enjoy the idea of the teacher swap that they do in Chicago, it is a different way of teaching and experiencing things. Teaching in middle school, the children move around enough that they get different ways of teaching from other teachers already, but it is a great idea to start as young as possible in the language acquisition.
