This student is in the beginning level of writing.  I would definitely continue to teach my whole group mini lessons so that student still receives the instruction at grade level, but I would make sure to check in with that student to make informal observations and plan my next instructional moves.  I can add in quick little teaching moments in my mini lessons that target what I'm observing as a way to incorporate that into the whole group lesson.  Additionally, I would make sure the student has access to the rules and strategies that have been taught throughout the year so they can reference back to them.  The addition of peer coaching would be beneficial for all students, but especially students in the beginning stage of writing.  I would provide checklists and structure to peer coaching so it is effective, productive, and constructive.
