My two main techniques would be modeling and leveled groups. As the teacher modeling and having students repeat what I have read will help them get understanding of how something should sound and be approached when read. I also feel that being consistent with this practice will help the students in the long run. Modeling only once or twice will not reinforce the concept. 

Using leveled groups in this class will help struggling students rise up, and help performing students continue to succeed. With the class deomgraphic it is important to plan for varied or DI instruction. Again, also being consistent with the diferent groupings, so as to not keep the same performers together.
