Mod 8 Discussion: Tiering and Scaffolding in My Classroom
Lyon Mod 8 Discussion
I would adapt the Frayer Model Graphic organizer for my students. I think this can be great since get to write out their notes, but its still organized as a graphic organizer. For science though, a lot of subjects will need some of the sections re-contextualized. For example, for covering body systems, we would not need examples of the circulatory system, but rather what organs and structures are involved (heart, blood vessels, etc). New sections can be the primary function, the secondary functions, the structures involved, and how particular body systems work together with this system (the standards covering body systems is concerned with them working together). You could even just do functions as one and have the forth section for students to make an illustration of circulatory systems, endocrine, etc.
