Mod 15 Video Discussion

These videos provided excellent examples of group work and group discussions and how they are so helpful and useful. As most instructors know, group work and discussions, while they take some time in setting up, are one of the most important ways of teaching and encouraging engagement in students. I want to apply this with my own classroom setting in such of brainstorm sessions or group writing, group novel studies, or other projects and discussions. In bringing this into my classroom I want to be clear about setting up the expectations of how group activities go and what needs to be accomplished during a session instead of just chatting and messing around. Giving lots of modeling and opportunities for turn and talks will be useful in setting up these standards for group work.
