The co-teaching approach is so beneficial and I only wish we used it more. Co-teaching increases individualized attention for the students, it opens them up to different teaching styles, it makes it easier to implement differentiated instruction, it provides positive role modeling and helps the students develop their social skills, not to mention the many benefits for the collaborating teachers. My day is always so much better when, at the start of class, when one of the ESL teachers comes in.
I really enjoyed reading your perspective on co-teaching. I agree that having two teachers in the classroom creates more opportunities to meet students' individual needs while also exposing them to different teaching approaches. I especially liked your point about the positive impact on both students and teachers. Strong collaboration can make the classroom more engaging and supportive for everyone. It's wonderful that you've had such positive experiences working alongside ESL teachers.
