Based on these videos, one example of a criterion-based assessment that I would now develop and apply to a lesson would be to do journal checks. Ensuring that students are able to write for different audiences or with different purpose is important for them to grasp understanding of different styles of writing. After doing a genre of writing for sometime, I would give students a prompt for them to do it on their own and would read and take notes, doing the same style of assessment later as well to see how they have improved and grown.
