I found this video very interesting. Phonological awareness is extremely important when teaching students and ELLs how to read. Phonological awareness lays the base for reading. I like how she started with words the end in ow and teaches students if you see ow at the end of the word start with saying /o/. If the word doesn't make sense, then say the word with /ow/ at the end. Then she goes on to say if they see ow in the middle of the word start by reading it with the /ow/ sound, then change it to /o/ if /ow/ doesn't sound correct.
