Mod 1 Video Discussion

As educators we understand that not every child learns the same way, just as professionals not every teacher will teach the same lesson the exact same way. My take away from this lesson is the importance of student engagement. In the video both teachers had the students actively participating in the lesson. There was no room for “this is too hard, I can't do this, I don’t want to do this.” Both teachers were teaching important challenging  lessons but presented the material in a way where students weren’t just sitting at their desk being “talked at.” I did a similar activity last school year when teaching angles. In an "around the world setting” students worked with a partner to identify and classify various angle types. The lesson was successful because students were able to work together and engage in visual and kin-aesthetic learning styles.
