The video presentations showed me the value of interim assessments for tracking student progress throughout the educational process. In my upcoming math lesson I plan to implement a criterion-based assessment where students will tackle multiple-step word problems and utilize various methods like drawing pictures, writing equations or breaking the problems down then explain their solution process. Using this approach enables me to evaluate both their final results and their problem-solving methods to determine how they apply taught strategies. I would analyze the lesson data to identify which students understand the concept well and which ones require additional assistance. I tracked their performance over time to identify patterns and trends before using that data to group students for specialized assistance and to develop upcoming lessons. With continuous check-ins I can maintain flexibility in teaching while ensuring all students progress steadily instead of waiting until the final exam. This approach helps create a tailored learning experience that adapts to students' current needs.
