Although I think social skills and vocabulary development are closely connected as an educator I would prioritize helping this student become more socially integrated. Students who experience acceptance from peers create better engagement opportunities and feel more at ease asking questions and experimenting with language which supports their vocabulary learning process. I intend to create an inclusive space by carefully matching him with classmates who will understand his requirements and provide support so that he feels secure enough to engage. Building social confidence creates a solid base for language development because greater social ease will prompt him to speak more frequently and listen actively which will naturally expand his vocabulary through real conversations. My first goal involves developing social trust because it will provide him with meaningful opportunities to learn and use new vocabulary without intimidation.
