The Reciprocal Teaching strategy would become my scaffold method enhanced through technology and culturally relevant materials which would make the approach more interactive and engaging. My teaching approach would involve demonstrating reading strategies through audio recordings or video examples that show thinking aloud while reading. I would progressively transfer leadership roles to students so that they can facilitate discussions and generate inquiries about their reading materials. The approach would be supported by pairing it with digital graphic organizers such as interactive KWL charts and semantic feature matrices which students can both access and complete using tablets or computers. In my instructional approach I would include texts that represent students' various backgrounds and interests which would enable them to engage more deeply with the reading materials. Google Classroom and Padlet allow students to work together and exchange ideas beyond school hours which helps develop community ties and continuous education. This instructional approach functions effectively in middle school language arts and social studies classes because students in these subjects face complex texts which require assistance to enhance their predictive thinking, questioning abilities, and summarization skills. The humanized approach supported by technological tools enables students to gain confidence alongside independence while making learning universally relevant and more accessible.
