One resource I liked from the Critical Literacy folder was using picture books to talk about bias and perspective. I’d use a book like Voices in the Park to show how different characters see the same event in totally different ways. After reading, we’d talk as a class about how people’s backgrounds and emotions can change how they tell a story. I’d also have students write or share their own take on the story and connect it to something in real life. It’s a simple way to help kids think deeper and build empathy.
