Based on what we have learned in the course so far, students will acclimate socially in their own time and at their own pace, however, I would try to incorporate both. By putting a student in a small peer group, I will be able to encourage peer relationships as well as encourage vocabulary development. I am also able to pull the student 1:1 to scaffold and provide direct 1:1 vocabulary assistance.
