Proposed Outline for Parent Workshop:

1. Communicate a clear understanding of the classroom and homework rules: Provide parents with a brochure that has the classroom rules, procedures, and expectations.
2. Allow all families, regardless of their cultural background, feel comfortable and included in their child’s educational journey: Have a Q and A session. Open up the floor to questions. Allow parents from different backgrounds to share their cultural norms if they would like.
3. To foster a welcoming and supportive environment that bridges cultural differences while promoting academic success: Close with an around the world potluck and allow guests to mingle.
