Mod 8 Video Discussion

Model 8 videos were very enlightening on ways to implement different learning strategies into the classroom. The first Video on scaffolding really showed me better ways to get engagement out of my students. The methods were the same in approach of using simplistic strategies for understanding and then building on top of those things however, being able to see that students are connected to work they can relate to gives me a different approach to use for scaffolding. The second video on using labels for images is something I do often in class being that I teach science. Lastly the video on learning to write and writing to learn really out in perspective ways to look at the approach of what you’re trying to teach and what is meant in each process in a way that one process may look like “practice” where students work on getting better at a goal and the other is the “game” where you look to see how well a student is performing that goal.
