I would start the lesson whole group to build vocabulary and to set expectations. Try and relate it to background knowledge and then split up with partners in a think pair share environment to allow the dependent field to work with a partner and discuss their ideas to come up with a consensus. After I would then step aside and let the students take over the class by calling on each other to see each others answers and then discuss in the class together what are examples and non examples.
