Modifications for ELL to instructional content and activities may be necessary to meet a struggling students' needs. Doing so may increase student proficiency in language learning skills. Introducing academic vocabulary using anchor charts and other visual aids have been beneficial when taught at the beginning of a new unit. I also use those charts to reference them throughout lessons helps with increasing student comprehension. Tailoring learning experiences to meet ELL students needs is important. If the content provided has cultural biases, sensitivity, or misrepresentation, it can impede on the students willingness to succeed or participate to the best of their ability.
