Mod 7 Discussion: Cross Cultural Awareness

For this assignment, I chose to use the scholastic.com site to teach multiculturalism and diversity through the text “Mango, Abuela, and Me” by Meg Medina . I find the text to be fitting for ESOL kindergarteners to relate to. Through the study of culture and cultural diversity, learners will examine, explore, and explain how human beings create, learn, share, and adapt to culture, and appreciate the role of culture in shaping their lives and society, as well the lives and societies of others. Students will be provided opportunities to think, pair and share with knee buddies to answer questions as we read the text.
