Mod 9 Discussion of my English Language Learners

As teachers we are always planning to meet the needs of every student in the classroom when creating lessons. Lesson that are appropriate and both engaging and challenging. A strategies that can be used for early literacy is shared reading. 

Shared reading helps students and ELL learners to improve on comprehension skills and the ability to read and communicate through discussion which promotes high order thinking. This also aids in word recognition and decoding skills. 

I enjoy share reading because I read and the student read out loud. I am able to pause and ask questions and if the student is stuck on a word this allows me to get the whole class on a discussion about the word and have them add the word to their list with definition. It also exposes them to understand what they are reading.
