The teacher can read aloud and model fluent reading for her students. another strategy is pointing to words and pictures while reading, and pre-teaching the vocabulary to the ELLs students.  Educators can incorporate multicultural themes to read in class, create interactive writing activities, to demonstrate their understanding.
