What surprised me was the negation. I think it's interesting that the disappearance is what makes a child more inquisitive. "Negation is a crucial aspect of language acquisition that allows children to express denial, refusal, or contradiction." ,The fact that children use non-verbal gestures or single words like "no" to indicate negation seems apparent, however it was not something I thought would be a separate idea. "As they develop, they begin to incorporate negative markers into their speech, typically placing "no" or "not" before a verb or noun."
