While all of these criteria are important, the two that stand out most to me is reflecting the key shifts in the benchmarks and assisting my students with interventions to ensure that they a re mastering the standards.

Being able to reflect on the key shifts in the benchmarks are important because this allows for me to gauge what the students know about the benchmark and what it is that they need to learn  to master the benchmark. The benchmarks increase in what is required of the students each yeat, which means that they must be able to show mastery of the benchmarks from the previous year or at least show understanding of the benchmark in order for them to be able to implement what they already know with what they needed to know to master the benchmarks or the current grade level.

The students being tested while it is a bit much for me, because we have been over assessing our students. The scholars are stressed out from fear of not passing the tests and exhibit a lot of signs and symptoms of anxiety, high stress levels, etc. Knowing where my students are performing versus where they should be performing gives hope that the students are able to become proficient at some benchmarks and have room to grow in other areas. Each piece of the criteria play an important role in the success of our scholars and ensures that they are comfortable and able to perform to the best of their abilities.
