Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of formative assessments as they seem to create a lot of stress and anxiety for the scholars. One formative assessment that I have used is the gallery walk and the fishbowl methods as well as literacy circles. I liked using each of the methos as they allowed for a streamlined conversation or discourse that allowed me to determine their comprehension of the text and whether they could understand it and break down the content as needed.

For the informative assessments, one that I have not tried is the carousel and the brick and mortar. I would love to be able to utilize these strategies but being that I currently teach math I’m not quite sure of how to implement it, but I believe that it would greatly assist with helping my scholars to gain a better understanding of how most of what we’re learning benefits them.
