The first step is to find out which cultures are present in your classroom. Labeling the classroom will help your ELL students build vocabulary. I would try saying some words, such as supplies, materials, and simple instructions, in the students native languages as possible. For example, if I ask students to take out thier pencil, I would also say "lapiz," incorporating Spanish. I would also decorate the room with pictues to show the varyng cultures present.
