Mod 11 Discussion: Teaching Critical Literacy

I use often the ELL students the Juxtaposing strategy. Last year we used the Venn Diagram to study Gothic literature. We read The Raven and the Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe. As part of the study, we used a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast both stories, characters and themes. To many of them, was the first time using it and they liked it.
