Mod 13 Video Discussion

In my present position as a fifth grade ELA/Social Studies teacher, I am fortunate to have as my team teacher, an amazing woman whose native language is Spanish. She experienced many unsuccessful strategies in her quest to learn English as an elementary aged student. She definitely helped me to see that students that were good readers in their native language would grasp many concepts much easier. Her strategies for student made contextual vocabulary cards with pictures have helped many of our ELL and struggling readers.
