Mod 11 Discussion: Teaching Critical Literacy

I’ve chosen Object Compare/Contrast. When I taught 5th grade science, the students had a standard that focused on comparing and contrasting adaptations.

SC.5.L.17.1- Compare and contrast adaptations displayed by animals and plants that enable them to survive in different environments such as life cycles variations, animal behaviors and physical characteristics.

We did a similar activity by looking at the beaks and skulls of various birds, but I like the questions that come with this specific pdf. I would use this for any standards that ask students to compare/contrast.
