Mod 8 Discussion: Tiering and Scaffolding in My Classroom
Module 8 Discussion
I am all about those graphic organizers! I pair graphic organizers with texts, note-taking, and video content. In the science classroom, graphic organizers can aid students in visualizing steps (how photosynthesis works), patterns (the water cycle), organizing categories (taxonomy), or how an historical event or discovery came about. For ELL students, I would routinely utilize vocabulary focused organizers, like Frayer models, as well. I practice gradual release through the lesson, and would adapt the lesson to include more partner (collaborative) work time for my students.
