In order to create a low-stress classroom, the teacher needs to encourage students to collaborate and discuss while allowing for the making of mistakes. This will help to build confidence and encourage language learning.

The use of content specific tools including maps, globes, diagrams, and art, etc. is essential to create a language-rich classroom.  By joining verbal and nonverbal channels of communication, it allows for the words and meanings to be more accessible thereby allowing the student to create their own language system.

Teachers want to correct things naturally; however. it is essential to remember that every speech error does not need to be corrected.   Permitting students to make mistakes allows them to learn from their mistakes and encourages experimentation and growth which are essential characteristics of language learning.
