Mod 8 Discussion: Tiering and Scaffolding in My Classroom

I always pre-teach the vocabulary with the students before we read. For ELL students, this is extremely important as it is less likely they will be familiar with some of the words. Additionally, I use visuals to help discussing the word.

Using the various tiers in questioning is a great way to scaffold for the students who find the content more challenging and yet the tier three presents an opportunity to push those who are further ahead in their understanding and thinking.
